Distributed Brute Force Attacks Protection
Richter, Jan ; Čejka, Rudolf (referee) ; Lampa, Petr (advisor)
This project deals with analysis of brute force attacks focused on breaking authentication of common services (especially ssh) of Linux and xBSD operating systems. It also examines real attacks, actual tools and ways of detection of theese attacks. Finaly there are designed new mechanisms of coordination and evaluation of distributed brute force attacks in distributed environment. These mechanisms are then implemented in distributed system called DBFAP.
Netgraph Module in FreeBSD for Traffic Accounting
Blažek, Jan ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (referee) ; Čejka, Rudolf (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with modular kernel networking subsystem Netgraph in FreeBSD operating system. Netgraph is shown from user's point of view. This work describes several concrete modules, tools for Netgraph management and examples of usage. Part of the work is about implementation of Netgraph module for network traffic accounting. There are described some other kernel subsystems used by the module - kernel loadable modules, mbuf - memory management in kernel interprocess subsystem and sysctl interface for sharing kernel variables with user space programs.
Quality of Services in WAN
Koblížek, Michal ; Heriban, Pavel (referee) ; Šťastný, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is inquire into direct traffic in computer network based on TCP/IP protocol. In the finish we can direct packets, that network traffic will behave by our rules. We will use only free software for this solution – this solution is based on FreeBSD system, PF packet firewall and queue framework ALTQ. Part of this thesis make examples queuing include fullversion scripts that are in elektronic appendix. The thesis was developed in research project MSM 0021630529 Intelligent Systems in Automation.

Operating system BSD
ĎURKOV, Milan
This bachelor?s thesis gives an overview of the operating system BSD Unix. The theoretical part of the work describes the history, the present and the basic information about the single distributions of this system. It also describes characteristics of the BSD kernel and natively used filesystem UFS which also compares with the Linux filesystem Ext4. The work also comprises description of the BSD license and its comparison with the GNU GPL license. The practical part of the thesis then describes the installation, configuration and practical experience of the work with desktop PC-BSD system.
